Cash stolen as burglars break into Somerset home

Burglar’s made off with a home owner’s cash after breaking into their house.

The burglary is believed to have taken place between 6pm and 8pm on Sunday, December 28, at a home in Campkin Road in Wells.

Police said that entry was forced into the home and a quantity of cash was taken.

A forensic examination was carried out and CCTV footage in the area was checked.

Police are investigating the burglary and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or who has CCTV or doorbell footage, is asked to contact the force.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers investigating a burglary in Wells on Sunday 28 December are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“It happened at some point between 6pm and 8pm in Campkin Road and a a quantity of cash was reported stolen after entry was forced to a home.

“Officers have attended and completed initial investigations, including forensics and CCTV reviews, at the scene as they work to establish the people responsible.

“They are now appealing for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time or anyone who has any relevant CCTV or doorbell footage to contact us.
