Concern over homeless people causing nuisance behaviour in Coventry

Concerns have been raised about homeless individuals engaging in antisocial behaviour across Coventry. Residents have reported ongoing issues on Coronation Road in Hillfields.

Police have been alerted to multiple incidents of homeless people gathering in stairwells across various buildings. Officers say they are working closely with Stonewater Housing.

Security measures are being strengthened through ongoing improvements. Teams have issued Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to disrupt the behaviour, said Coventry Police.

Patrols have also been stepped up across Hillfields. Anyone who sees suspicious behaviour is urged to call 999.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said: “Officers are working with Stonewater Housing at present around issues residents are facing on Coronation Road. We have received reports of homeless people congregating in the stairwells and causing antisocial behaviour.

“We are regularly attending this location and issuing CPWs to persons found in order to disrupt this behaviour. In partnership with Stonewater Housing, improvements are underway to improve security for residents.
