A Coventry couple have been left devastated after a pub and wedding venue appears to have closed suddenly.

Anthony O’Neill and his long-term partner were due to get married in summer this year at the Hare and Hounds in Keresley.

He said they put down a £500 deposit in October. But this week they learned via Facebook that the venue appears to have closed abruptly.

A screenshot of a post on the Hare & Hounds Keresley Facebook page, which has been seen by CoventryLive, stated: “The Hare & Hounds will remain closed until further notice.”

It was signed by H&H management. The Facebook page has since been deleted and the phone number associated with the pub online is no longer connected.

Documents online show that Companies House has issued a compulsory striking off notice against a company called Triple H Hospitality LTD – meaning that it intends to forcibly remove a company from its register.

The directors of Triple H Hospitality are listed on Companies House as Kellie Susan Elizabeth Henney and Gary John Henney.

A Kellie Henney is listed as a contact on the Hare and Hounds Keresley website while Kellie Henney is also cited as a wedding planner at the venue in Facebook posts. Another Facebook post mentions ‘Kellie, Gaz and Henney family’.

Anthony and his partner are now desperately looking for a new venue so they can go ahead with their wedding in July. They’ve been regulars at the Hare and Hounds for years and always attended the fireworks event in November – which Anthony said was cancelled this year.

He’s also been left angry as he claims that ‘no one has contacted us’ from the Hare and Hounds.

“We’ve heard it’s gone into liquidation,” he said. “We’ve tried ringing but the phone number doesn’t seem to exist anymore. It’s a crazy situation.

“We’ve been ringing round places all morning trying to find another venue.”

The dad-of-four got engaged 10 years ago but the wedding was put on the back burner after the couple’s kids came along.

“Last year we decided 2026 was the year we were finally going to tie the knot,” he said. “The Hare and Hounds seemed reasonable and all our friends and family live there. It’s a nice area.

“We’re just devastated.”

The Hare and Hounds Keresley website – which is still online – describes the business as ‘family run’. It adds: “From 1st January 2022 we are now licenced as an approved premises for marriages and civil partnerships.

“From the most intimate and informal to the most lavish we can cater to your needs. We aim to make your special day really special.”

CoventryLive has attempted to contact the Hare and Hounds for comment.
