A professional drinker who makes his living going on pub crawls around the country has used his end of year round up to hail Coventry and its best three pubs.

Dale Harvey and his girlfriend Holly run popular social media account The Great British Pub Crawl.

Since 2022, the pair have been touring the UK in a bid to visit as many of the country’s drinking holes as possible, capturing their exploits and making money from the views they achieve along the way.

Thousands of pubs in, including dozens of Cov boozers from multiple city visits, Dale has revealed which of our establishments he likes best.

Sharing on social media, the influencer, who has hundreds of thousands of followers across channels, told followers the top three.

He said: “I revisited Coventry where my exploits this time took me on a tour of the city centre outskirts for the most part of the day before heading into the city centre.

“Two amazing stops along the route in where I discovered The Hearsall Inn which when you talk about top class, back street pubs that are just doing everything right. this is one of those! An absolute belter of a boozer.

“Only a couple more stops down my route before I found an old pub by a park called The Broomfield Tavern and you could be forgiven for thinking that this pub might be on its last legs from the outer façade as the pub almost looks like its falling down.

“But my word, let me assure you, it is very much in play and is an outstanding pub with a belting beer selection and proper traditional feel about it.”

But there is one spot Dale admits has his heart – a popular award winning micropub.

He said: “To complete a trio of amazing Coventry pubs visited on that day, I headed for a revisit to the amazing Hops D’Amour as I needed to know if my first impression of this being a 10/10 establishment when we’d visited back in 2024, was really the case or if I’d just over egged it a bit on that day.

“Well, needless to say, I need not have worried about my initial thoughts as they were spot on and this place truly is a marvel and Coventry is incredibly lucky to have such a brilliantly run, super little beer house in the city… 10/10 is the only way to describe it.”
