Geordie TV star Declan Donnelly has splashed out and bought a third house on the street where he lives with his wife and children. The presenter recently signed a new £30million ITV contract with Ant McPartlin and reportedly made the purchase soon after.

Dec, who was born in Newcastle’s West End, already has a £7m mansion in West London, as well as the house next door that he snapped up three years ago for £2.25m. He has now bought his third home, next door to the second one in a row, and submitted planning applications to develop it, reports The Mirror.

It is not known how much he paid but current houses are being sold for £2.5m on that street. Ant also used to live a few doors down from Dec on the same street before his divorce from first wife Lisa.

He moved out of the local area, and now lives in a £6m home in South West London with new wife Anne-Marie. The couple are now said to be house-hunting.

Details of Dec’s latest sale emerged after plans were submitted to the local council by his wife Ali to add a side extension and install a new gate. Neighbours were reportedly delighted when Dec bought the £2.25m property as it was run down and an eyesore.

The latest home will also be spruced up. It is made up of two flats, and it is not known what Dec plans to do with the property, or if he intends to sell it on. Dec, 50, bought his original seven-bedroom property in 2006 for £1.9m.

It is now worth more than three times that, but he has added a cinema, swimming pool, steam room and poolside kitchen. He lives there with his wife Ali and children Isla and Jack. The new purchase is thought to have been sealed in the last two months as Ant and Dec sealed the ITV contract.

It is worth £5million a year to each of them. The deal takes the duo through to the end of 2028, 30 years after the Geordies joined ITV to host kids’ show SM:TV. The pair have a bumper year lined up with a new series of Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win, Britain’s Got Talen, I’m A Celebrity South Africa, which returns three years after its first run, and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.

ITV said this week how the Jungle’s first episode consolidated with an audience of 11.2 million. Dec said last week: “We’re so lucky to work on some of the biggest and best TV shows and we’re proud of what we have achieved together with ITV over the years.” He added: “We’re excited for the future and looking forward to making more great entertainment together.”

Kevin Lygo, managing director for media and entertainment at ITV, said he was delighted to snap up the duo for three more years. He said: “Ant & Dec’s impact upon the world of live entertainment is unrivalled, with their triumphant partnership reigning supreme for over three decades.

“This new three-year working relationship marks an exciting new chapter with ITV, which I have no doubt will be full of yet more unmissable entertainment.” Ant & Dec shared a flat when they moved to London as teenagers. They also previously bought neighbouring holiday homes in the Algarve.
