Elderly couple found dead in Delhi’s Shahdara; police suspect insider hand | Delhi News

An elderly couple were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their home in Ram Nagar Extension, Shahdara, in the early hours of Sunday. While the exact motive of the crime is not clear, the Delhi Police suspect the role of an insider or a family member.

A PCR call was received at the MS Park police station at around 12.30 am. According to the police, the caller said his father and mother were lying unconscious and suspected to be dead.

The police, who reached the spot immediately, identified the caller as Vaibhav Bansal, son of Virender Kumar Bansal, 75, a retired teacher, and Parvesh Bansal, 65, a housewife. He told the police that someone had killed his parents. The police said the couple’s son works as a gym trainer.

The police found two bodies lying in separate rooms on the third floor of the house. They observed visible injuries on the face of Virender Kumar Bansal, while his wife appeared to have been strangled.

A forensic science laboratory team was immediately called to the spot, which was thoroughly examined and photographed to collect evidence.

Both bodies were sent to a hospital mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examination.

“While the exact motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police officials said that the possibility of robbery cannot be ruled out. Investigators are probing the case from all angles. The investigation is currently in progress,” said Prashant Priya Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara.
