The teenage former pupil of a British school has been confirmed as one of the 40 victims of the devastating fire at a Swiss ski resort. Charlotte Niddam, 15, who previously attended Immanuel College in Hertfordshire, was among those killed in the blaze in Crans-Montana.
Her nationality has not yet been confirmed, reports the Mirror. Swiss authorities said all 40 victims have now been formally identified.
In a statement shared on social media, Charlotte’s family said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter and sister, Charlotte.
“Details regarding the funeral arrangements will follow shortly. It is most likely on Thursday in Paris. Thank you for all your support over the last few days.”

The blaze broke out at the Le Constellation bar, whose owners, Jacques and Jessica Moretti, aged 49 and 40, are now under criminal investigation for manslaughter by negligence, bodily harm by negligence and arson by negligence.
Police said the latest identifications include a 14-year-old Swiss teenager, two aged 15, two aged 16 and one aged 17, as well as two 16-year-olds from Italy and another 16-year-old with dual nationality. Nine of the victims newly confirmed were under 18.
Swiss President Guy Parmelin said many of those who died were “full of plans, hope and dreams,” calling the fire “one of the worst tragedies” the country has experienced.
More than 2,000 people joined a silent march through Crans-Montana in memory of the victims, as friends and relatives gathered to pay tribute to those who died.
