Gardaí issue urgent appeal for info on young Tipperary man missing for three days

Gardaí have issued an urgent appeal for information on the whereabouts of a young Tipperary man who has been missing from his home since New Year’s Day.

Ciaran Moorehouse was last seen in Clonmel Town early on Thursday morning, and at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a distinct orange illuminous jacket. The 27-year-old stands at 5’10” in height with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes. Gardaí have also circulated an image of the missing man.

Gardaí and Ciaran’s family are concerned for his welfare, and anyone with information on his whereabouts has been asked to contact Gardaí at Clonmel Garda Station. Reports can also be made in person at any Garda station or discretely via the Garda Confidential Line.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Ciaran Moorehouse, aged 27, who is reported missing from his home in Cashel, Co. Tipperary since Thursday the 1st January 2026. Ciaran is described as being approximately 5’ 10” in height and of a slim build. He has black hair and brown eyes.

“Ciaran was last seen in Clonmel Town at approximately 7:00 am on the morning of New Year’s Day. He was wearing an orange illuminous jacket. Gardaí and Ciaran’s family are concerned for his welfare.”

Anyone with information on Ciaran’s whereabouts is asked to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052 617 7640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

This follows a recent appeal made by Gardaí looking into the disappearance of Imelda Keenan, who was reported missing from her home in Waterford more than 30 years ago. Gardaí issued a public appeal yesterday on the 32nd anniversary of her disappearance

Imelda, who was originally from Mountmellick, Co. Laois, vanished without a trace from Waterford city on Monday, January 3, 1994. She had moved there and was living with her boyfriend. On the day she vanished, she left her apartment at 1:30 pm and walked down William Street onto Lombard Street.

The last confirmed sighting of Imelda was at the corner of the Tower Hotel and Lombard Street, where she was seen crossing the street.1 Gardaí are urging anyone with any information about Imelda’s whereabouts – no matter how small – to contact officers at Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
