LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The stretch of rainy days continues across Southern California, with even more storms in the forecast throughout the weekend.
After some heavy showers, rainfall on Saturday finally died down heading into the evening, but another round of showers moves in by Sunday morning, bringing more heavy rainfall.
Then, scattered on-again-off-again showers are expected throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.
The rain is expected to get heavier again heading into Sunday evening and night, before the storm system moves east and out of our area overnight and into Monday.
More chances for rain move in for the work week, but for now, it looks like the rain chances will be much lower.
A beach hazard statement for king tides is in place through Monday at 10 a.m. for our coastal areas. Dangerous rip currents, elevated surf and minor coastal flooding are possible.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Sunday can expect a high of 61 degrees and a low of 52. After storms on Sunday, rain chances drop to 40% for Monday and Tuesday, and 20% for Wednesday.
The valleys and the Inland Empire on Sunday will see a high of 63 degrees and a low of 51. Rainfall totals between one and two inches are expected on Sunday, and then rain chances begin to taper off heading into the work week.
Beaches on Sunday can expect dangerous king tides with a high of 63 degrees and a low of 57.
The mountain areas on Sunday will see a high of 42 degrees and a chilly overnight low of 28. While rain is expected in most areas, the higher elevations could also see snow flurries for the next several days.
The deserts on Sunday can expect a high of 55 degrees and a low of 42. Palm Springs is expected to reach 70 degrees.
