A man in his 30s was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Kerry overnight, with Gardaí now appealing for witnesses. Emergency services and Gardaí were alerted to the collision along a local road in Knockdooragh, Headford, shortly after 11 pm on Saturday night.

The car collided with a tree late last night, and upon arrival, the driver was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The crash occurred in a rural area about 15 minutes outside of Killarney, and the road was closed to allow for a full technical examination to take place.

The road remains closed this morning as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene, and local diversions have been put in place to accommodate traffic. Gardaí have asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them, and they are also interested in examining video footage from anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision.

Road users, particularly those with a dash cam, who were travelling near Headford between 11 and 11:30 pm last night, have been asked to make any footage they have available to investigating Gardaí.
