A man suffered a serious cut to his head after allegedly being assaulted in an alleyway on Christmas Day. Essex Police are investigating the incident that reportedly occurred shortly before 4pm on December 25.

It’s reported that a man in his 50s was walking in an alleyway between Ditton Court Road and Valkyrie Road in Westcliff shortly before 4pm. The force believes he was assaulted while taking the route and sustained a serious cut to his head.

No arrests have been made so far. The investigation continues and officers are exploring a number of enquiries.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We’re investigating an incident in Westcliff on Christmas Day. It’s reported that a man aged in his 50s was walking in an alleyway between Ditton Court Road and Valkyrie Road shortly before 4pm on Thursday, 25 December.

“We believe he was assaulted whilst taking that route and sustained a serious cut to his head. At this stage no arrests have been made and we’re exploring a number of enquiries.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area between 3.50pm and 4.10pm or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
