We’ve found a few positions anyone can apply for, regardless of qualifications, with some even offering qualifications on the job!

Customer Services Advisor
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £26,403 – £28,142
- Hours per week: 37
- Employment Location: County Hall, MORPETH, United Kingdom

The job advert explains that the Customer Experience team are the first point of contact for people who get in touch with the council. The team operates a telephone contact centre based at County Hall in Morpeth. However, the role also advertises hybrid working.

Assistant Environmental Services Technician
- Contract Type: Fixed Term until 01/09/26, with the possibility to be extended
- Salary: Grade 2 (SCP 5-6) £25,583 – £25,989

- Employment Location: Various locations within Sunderland City boundary
- Closing date: 1 Feb
As an Assistant Environmental Services Technician, within our dedicated Local Services team, the advert promises you can contribute to improving environmental standards within Sunderland.
Applicants will enjoy working outdoors, being active and dealing with people. You would work to provide exceptional services to Sunderland residents and visitors by completing grounds maintenance and street cleansing tasks across the city.

Residential Worker
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £30,024 – £33,699 plus allowances
- Allowances: expected salary of £37,499 – £41,858 with 5% secure unit allowance, enhanced hours, sleep ins and R&R allowance
- Hours per week: 37
- Employment Location: Your normal place of work will be Aycliffe Secure Centre, Newton Aycliffe, but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.

The team at Aycliffe Secure Centre provide a caring and aspirational environment for young people aged between 10 and 18. The young people are accommodated under a welfare or criminal justice order and have faced many adversities, including neglect, trauma, relationship breakdown and criminal proceedings.
As a result, you would be working with young people with complex needs and behaviours in the job role. While the role is physically and emotionally challenging, there is the opportunity to make a genuine difference by offering your care, compassion, and time.
Even if you apply without a qualification, you will be supported in achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. It is a requirement that all our Residential Workers hold this qualification so this will be achieved within the first 18 months in the role. Apply here.
Security Officer
- Contract Type: 12-month Fixed Term
- Salary: £26,403 – £27,254 per annum
- Hours per week: 37
- Employment Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

The job advertises the opportunity to work as a Security Officer based at the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne. Your main responsibilities would include monitoring CCTV, monitoring electronic systems, coordinating response to alarm activations, including providing mobile assistance.
The advert states that it is essential for applicants to hold a full UK Driving Licence, possess excellent IT skills, and have a good telephone manner. Previous experience within the security industry would be advantageous, as would a current SIA CCTV and Door Supervisors licence.

EE Apprentice Sales Advisor
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £21,620 per annum, rising to £25,684 after completion of the apprenticeship
- Employment Location: EE Gosforth or EE North Tyneside
The advert states that you don’t need experience, all you need is a great attitude, a friendly voice, and the willingness to learn. EE will provide you with all the training you need, leading to an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service upon completion of the apprenticeship (15 months).

Business Practitioner Apprentice – NHS
- Contract Type: 15-month Fixed-term
- Salary: £12.21 an hour pro rata per annum
