North East charities gifted £120,000 by Tyne Tunnel operator last year

To see out the year 12 charities were donated £12,000 during the Christmas period

Pathways4All, which provides play and leisure services for disabled children and young people, is receiving £1,000 on the third day of Christmas.

Operator of the Tyne Tunnels, TT2 has gifted North East with donating £12,000 to 12 charities over the 12 days of Christmas, which topped off the year in which the company donated an amazing total of £120,599 in 2025. The Wallsend office employs 120 local people and have undertaken an impressive 330 hours of volunteering throughout the year.

On December 12 the first charity that received their £1,000 was Maggie’s Cancer Care which has centres in Newcastle and Middlesbrough and offer care and support for people impacted by cancer, and their families. The next charity on the 13th was Cats Protection Tyneside which helps unwanted, neglected or abused cats and kittens.

Wag & Co. receive their 12 Days of Christmas gift from TT2.

Other charities that received £1000 throughout the 12 days of Christmas included; Pathways4All, Children’s Cancer North, North East Autism Society, Women’s Aid, Feeding Families, Breast Cancer Now, Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, Daft as a Brush, People’s Kitchen and Wag & Co.

COO at TT2, Shaun Simmons, said: “All of these charities are personally chosen by people in our 130-strong team. We are a strong community partner and really glad to be able to support these local charities who do a wonderful job of helping people and animals in need.”
