The transport body further objected to the content of the reel, claiming that it presents women conductors in an objectionable and derogatory manner. According to PMPML officials, such content can have serious consequences beyond social media engagement. They emphasised that reels of this nature can negatively impact the respect, reputation, mental well-being, and overall standing of women employees, while also sending a misleading message to the public.
The notice also highlights that the viral reel has allegedly harmed the public image and credibility of PMPML as an essential public service provider. The administration noted that the act goes against the corporation’s internal rules, established policies, and ethical standards, and could potentially erode public trust in the organisation’s operations.
In its directive, PMPML has ordered Atharva Sudame to immediately delete the concerned reel from Instagram. He has also been warned not to post any photographs, videos, reels, or other social media content related to PMPML buses, staff, or operations in the future without prior written permission from the competent authority.
Additionally, the influencer has been instructed to appear at the PMPML headquarters located on Shankarsheth Road in Swargate within seven days of receiving the notice. He is required to submit a written explanation regarding the incident. The transport body has clearly stated that failure to comply with these directions, or to provide a satisfactory response, will lead to further legal action under applicable laws.
