Sky Sports presenter Teddy Draper has launched his own outdoor fitness concept in Gloucestershire, aimed at keeping people active, connected and mentally well.
Called the Triple Tonic, Draper’s idea is built around three simple pillars designed to improve both physical and mental wellbeing.
“Triple Tonic isn’t a drink!” Draper said. “It’s built on three foundations of health: fresh air, movement and conversation.”
The concept is designed to get people outdoors while combining physical activity with social connections, something Draper believes is increasingly important as the days get shorter and colder.

“If you could bottle movement and put it into a pill, it would be a really powerful drug,” he said. “The benefits are huge, not just physically but mentally as well.”
Leckhampton-based Draper, who previously worked for Sky Sports and spent time studying and working in the United States, said the idea was inspired by his own experience playing sport as a child.
“That joy of chasing a ball around outdoors as a kid, even in the winter, that feeling stays with you. I’m trying to recreate that feeling of sport in exercise that’s fun, uplifting and still develops fitness, strength and agility.”
As winter sets in, Draper says it can be tempting for people to retreat indoors, but he believes staying active outside is key to both mental and physical health.
“When you wake up and it’s dark and cold, the instinct is to hibernate, but we’re animals, we need daylight and we need nature,” he said. “In the UK we’re lucky. It rains a bit, but it’s rarely prohibitive. Get a good waterproof and face those fears.”
The sessions, which range from structured workouts to simple ‘walk and talk’ options, are aimed at being accessible to people of all fitness levels.
“Fundamentally, fresh air, movement and conversation could just be a walk with a friend around the local park. You don’t have to overcomplicate it.”
Following Movember’s focus on mental health, Draper believes exercise can play a powerful role early in the New Year.
Having taken part in a session myself, the focus felt as much mental as physical.
The conversation and coordination exercises helped lift mental fatigue, and I left feeling positive and refreshed.

“Movement lifts your mood in the short term and improves happiness over time, especially when you combine it with conversation,” Draper said.
“Sleep is a foundation of health, both physical and mental and these things all build on each other.”
Draper added that it’s never too late for people to start prioritising their own fitness.
“People have been proven to build muscle in their 70s and 80s,” he said.
“The earlier you start, the bigger the platform you have to stay fit and healthy for longer, but it’s never too late.”
