Thieves target two homes just miles apart in Coventry

Thieves targeted two homes located just miles apart in a leafy Coventry neighbourhood. Both break-ins happened in Walsgrave.

Police said the first burglary occurred on Woodway Lane. Intruders forced open the front door and entered the property between 7pm on January 2 and 4am on January 3.

Jewellery items were stolen in the burglary, according to Coventry Police. Another break-in was reported on nearby Cressage Road.

It happened between 5pm on January 2 and 4am on January 3. Police said the front door of the property was forced open during the incident and they are investigating whether any items are missing.

Witnesses to the Woodway Lane burglary have been asked to call 101. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are currently investigating this matter, but if you may have any further information or saw any suspicious behaviour around the above times on Woodway Lane, please contact us on 101, quoting 20/102059/26.”

Appealing for information on the burglary on Cressage Road, West Midlands Police said: “We are currently investigating this matter, but if you may have any further information or saw any suspicious behaviour around the above times on Cressage Road, please contact us on 101, quoting 20/102057/26. We would like to reassure residents that we will be conducting additional patrols in the area.”
