Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which has been claiming to write a ‘new history’ in Tamil Nadu politics, does not even have candidates to be fielded in all the 234 constituencies, said AIADMK leader K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji.

Addressing party booth committee members here on Sunday, Mr. Bhalaji, said the party that claims to be an inevitable force and would determine victory of any party in the forthcoming Assembly election did not have field workers and also booth committee members.

“Just because they are in the limelight, such leaders claim that no party can form the Government (post Assembly election) without the support of their party, “ he said. People coming in large numbers to have a glimpse of silver screen heroes would not translate into votes during election, he said.

The former State Minister said that the actual poll battle in Tamil Nadu would be between the AIADMK and the DMK.

“The AIADMK will emerge victorious and our leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami will be the Chief Minister. The DMK will come second,” he said.

Stating that an overwhelming 10,000 applications having been received from party cadres seeking seats from the AIADMK to contest in the Assembly election proved that AIADMK was still a major force to reckon with, Mr. Bhalaji said that Mr. Palaniswami will form a strong alliance very soon.

“Lot of issues (pertaining to alliance) have been solved … to pave way for AIADMK’s victory in the election,” he said.

The party Virudhunagar West district secretary flayed the prediction of former Loyola college students that DMK president M.K. Stalin had an upper hand in the ensuing Assembly election. “The poll prediction was motivated. We have another poll prediction which favours AIADMK to win 150 seats,” he said.
