A woman has died after a crash in Glasgow’s east end
A woman has died in hospital after a horror Hogmanay crash in Glasgow. A black Mercedes A class crashed in Mansionhouse Drive near the junction with Croftspar Place in the east end of the city at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, December 31.
The 66-year-old driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she died a day later on Thursday, January 1. On Sunday, Police Scotland issued a public appeal for information about the collision.
The force have asked for any witnesses to come forward, as well as those that may have dash-cam footage from the area at the time.
Sergeant Adnan Alam of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash, and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed this, and who has not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
“Similarly, any drivers in the area at the time with dashcam footage should get in touch with us as they may be able to assist our inquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting incident 2223 of December 31.
