It comes after cops launched a hunt to find two men who stole thousands from two hotels in Peebles and Innerleithen.
The men broke in to The Park Hotel at around 1.20am on January 2 and then the Traquair Arms Hotel at around 2.15am stealing a four-figure sum of cash from both hotels and a safe from the second hotel.
The force said the incidents are being treated as linked. Both men are described as white, in their 60s, and wearing dark clothing and gloves. One wore a cap and the other a beanie-style hat.
