Courtney McBride, 27, was woken by the noise of her neighbour smashing through her front door to alert her that the blaze had taken hold on Kirkshaws Avenue in Coatbridge.
A young mum is living in fear for her life after a sick stalker torched her car outside her home while she slept just metres away with her child.
Courtney McBride, 27, has opened up on her ordeal at the hands of a man who has been threatening her for months.
She said the individual, who is known to her, has sent her a barrage of abusive messages in the past -with one threatening to set fire to her vehicle – but police investigating her claims found that no crime had been committed.
Her torment turned to terror in the early hours of December 27 when she was woken at 2am by the noise of her neighbour smashing in her front door in a bid to save her and her little boy as the blaze took hold outside.

Chilling footage captured on Courtney’s doorbell camera shows the hooded man in dark clothing approaching her Audi A3 on her driveway on Kirkshaws Avenue in Coatbridge, before dousing the vehicle in accelerant.
The car is then seen bursting into flames as he flees the scene before the blaze quickly spread to the front of Courtney’s home, melting the surrounds of her door and windows.

She told the Record: “It was absolutely terrifying. I woke up to my neighbour bashing my door in and screaming that my car was on fire.
“I quickly grabbed my little boy and ran down the stairs. I tried to get out through the front door, but the flames were too close and smoke was pouring into the living room. Thankfully, we were able to escape out the back of the house.”

Fire crews quickly arrived on the scene to extinguish the blaze, but Courtney said her and her six-year-old son have been left petrified by when the thug will strike next.
She added: “I know who did this and I have the footage of it, but you can’t see his face so it’s hard to prove.
“Police have put me on red alert and they are patrolling my street. They say that the house is safe to stay in, but I am scared for our lives and terrified in my own home.

“I just keep thinking, what if he comes back next time and throws something through my letterbox and it’s the house that goes up in flames?
“I can’t sleep at night and my son is very traumatised too. He is frightened by every little noise he hears. “
Officers from Police Scotland have confirmed that the fire at Courtney’s home is being treated as wilful. No one has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
