A 21-hour Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for Stoke-on-Trent. The warning comes into force from 3pm on Sunday 4 January.
Forecasters are predicting 10 hours of snow in Stoke-on-Trent from 2pm this afternoon. Further snow is forecast in Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday 7 January and Saturday 10 January.
The weather warning states: “Snow and ice has the potential to cause disruption to travel in places from Sunday evening through to Monday morning. Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services; some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces; and probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.”
